Meet bee
bee is an Italian Piaggio Ape (pronounced Ah-Pay), and Ape is the Italian word for bee. Her name reflects her origin of being a busy and hardworking little bee, lugging watermelons in a tiny Sicilian village in Southern Italy. She has since been lovingly restored to the most bee-autiful version of herself - an adaptable blank slate on which your imagination can run wild. We LOVE bee and we know you will too.
Meet the peeps
We are Al & Xavier.
We live on the Bellarine Peninsula and juggle the busy life of family, work and doing ALL the things!
We met many moons ago when working together in hospitality, got married in Thailand, had [extra] kids, lived on a boat, travelled the world, then raised our surf-loving, music-playing family on the Bellarine.
We fell in love with bee’s perfect combo of functionality and Italian style. Was there a grand plan? Maybe not! But we knew she was something special. This two year passion project had many many moments of passionate arguing as Al’s creative vision for bee had to be translated into reality by Xave. The restoration of bee proved to be a labour of love and it’s fair to say Xave provided most (all) of the labour! bee has come a long way since her watermelon lugging days and it is now her time to shine. We can’t wait to meet you and introduce you to bee.
